The concept of Garden City Insurance Agency began in 1998 when
Mike Tomlinson and Keir Anderson met through a mutual contract in
the insurance industry. A friendship developed which turned into a
business known as Garden City Insurance Agency, LLC. It was
agreed that because of the favorable changes in South Carolina's
insurance laws the timing was right to begin a new agency. Our
emphasis would be to obtain the finest companies possible, and to
show clients the advantage an agent can provide.
Mike Tomlinson started working in the insurance industry in 1959.
Has been a manager with several companies in addition to being an
independent agent.
Keir J Anderson is a 1997 Graduate of The University of South
Carolina. Continues as an agent today.

The name Garden City Insurance Agency was actually derived from
the rose gardens in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Funny story: "We had just named ourselves and I was in the post
office dropping off some mail. A nice woman behind me saw the
name on the envelope and stated she had heard of us. I was
shocked since we just came up with it, and fell in love with the name."
